For what it's worth, here's yesterday's Today Show report on China's declining international adoption rate:

Not surprisingly, given the American news media's penchant for lazy reporting, there is no mention of the fact that the adoption process in China ground to a virtual halt long before these new restrictions were implemented. So, we're left with the official government explanation that there just aren't enough kids.

Did I TELL you this would happen?? I KNEW it! The Olympics and China's knowledge of the imminent press on adoption during this time caused the slowdown. That is MY humble opinion.
Yep - I fully agree with you. And what is this crap trying to explain the slowdown on the Hunan scandal. Please.
So frustrating. I know what frustrates my friends who are in process is that agencies are not really being truthful about wait times and are still telling people things like 24 months or 36 months which at the rate things are going is only for people who are already in process not for those who are just starting out. For them, the wait times will be much longer due to the number of days adoptions are being processed out of each month.
